Artist Profile — Paige Northwood
Paige Northwood is an interdisciplinary artist working in the realms of clay and painting. Her practice explores memory, emotion, and the sensory body experience. The artist’s personal practice of connecting with and awareness of the body, sensation and movement are evident in her work. Northwood is interested in self-empowerment, in reclaiming our bodies and in our psychic abilities, and sees her work as a ritualistic honouring of this process.
Northwood graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Wollongong University in 2010, a Bachelor of Design from the Whitehouse Institute of Design in 2013, and a Diploma in Ceramics from Gymea TAFE in 2018. Post-study, Northwood worked in Aboriginal Art Centres in Central Australia — she currently works in Arts Education in NSW.
Northwood exhibits across Australia and internationally, and is currently represented by Leighton Contemporary in Queensland and Jerico Contemporary in New South Wales.
