“In this work, I wanted to capture the rugged blueness of the west coast I frequented growing up in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It gets really choppy so I can only stay in the water for a little while. I feel more comfortable painting and admiring it from afar. Ocean Dancefloor is an ode to the cold salty rough waves that scare and excite me.” - Andrea Bolima
