‘Bursting Her Banks’

As our interior worlds mirror and bump up against our external environments, one is given the opportunity to reconsider how we can be whole and resolute, yet malleable and porous. Our bodies merge with our environments through immersion, reflection, camouflage, and decay. We lean in when our internal selves dissolve into external experiences; the moments of you dissolving into me, of us into them. The practice of imprinting and being imprinted upon calls for tenderness, strength and connection. It is within this fluid embrace that this collection of works, ‘Bursting Her Banks’ was created. - Loralee Jade
