Using the immense winter sky and rugged landscape of her home on Boonwurrung country on the Bass Coast in Victoria as subject matter, Rebeccah Power creates paintings that can be described as atmospheric, ethereal and hazy. Her new series of paintings are titled ‘Fuzz’ which means ‘to become blurred or indistinct’. They are a continuation of her current practice that is driven by the desire to embody in painting, the idea that the universe is constantly unfolding out of a range of possibilities. Through the act of scumbling successive layers of colour pigment on highly textured watercolour paper, Power is able to create a sense of movement that evokes a liminal space between formlessness and form, helping to anchor us in the present moment and provide a deep connection to all things.

This is an original work by Rebeccah Power.
