Emerging Australian artist, Emmanuelle McGlade, is developing an exciting reputation for her delicate, exacting works on paper. Based in Dja Dja Wurrung country, Victoria, McGlade's new series of works, titled 'Garden Series', introduces colour-filled, playful, yet delicate and considered soft pastel works, each of which celebrates the gardens surrounding McGlade. Garden Series is about "contemplating time spent wandering amongst gardens, across dew covered grass, where blossoming flowers perfume the air, mist hovers in the distance, and sunlight pierces through the trees. Through this, colour formations emerge." - Emmanuelle McGlade

McGlade graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Art) from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2016, specialising in drawing and printmaking. She creates drawings that explore the push and pull between order and disorder; balance and imbalance. Her work encapsulates a sense of stillness and clarity, influenced by observations and experiences in the natural environment.
