“Scar Tree is a bold and symbolic piece that represents the carving marks left on trees after our ancestors have removed sections of bark to create tools such a coolamons, canoes and shields. Leaving behind large unique ‘scars’. Scar Trees are sacred trees that hold a direct link to our ancestors, a reminder of our connection to place and country.” - Hannah Lange
