New Zealand-based artist Michelle Witters creates contemporary abstract paintings that capture the emotive power of colour, light and mood. Working directly onto raw natural canvas, she allows the paint to soak into the fibres, where soft, fluid transitions emerge naturally, making every work unique. Inspired by the call of the coast, her SALT series invites moments of quiet reflection and contemplation.
“Bathed in the warmth of lingering light, ‘Midsummer Haze’ reflects the rich layers, movement and atmosphere found where sea and sand become one.” - Michelle Witters
